How this works
Duration = End − Start − Break
Decimal hours = minutes ÷ 60
Overnight shift: add 24 hours when the end time is earlier

How do I convert minutes to decimal hours?
Divide by 60. So 45 minutes is 0.75 hours and 8 hours 30 minutes is 8.5 hours — the figure payroll systems expect.
Does it handle overnight shifts?
Yes. If the end time is earlier than the start, it assumes the shift ran past midnight and adds 24 hours.
Are unpaid breaks included?
No. Break minutes are subtracted from the total, which is what most timesheets require for unpaid breaks.
