How do I calculate square footage?

Multiply width by length in feet. A 12 by 15 foot room is 180 square feet. For an irregular space, split it into rectangles and add the parts.

How much extra flooring should I order?

Around 10% for a straight lay, 15% for diagonal or patterned layouts, and more for rooms with many corners. The waste field adds it for you.

How do I convert square metres to square feet?

Multiply by 10.764. So 20 square metres is about 215 square feet.
